Benefits of Massage Therapy

Because chiropractors have understood the benefits of massage therapy they have incorporated this modality into thier practice for years. As massage therapy becomes more mainstream, not only as a relaxation tool, but as part of the average American's health wellness program and/or part of thier injury or surgery recovery team, more patients are discussing masage therapy with thier doctors. Medical doctors are beginning to realize it's medical benefits and are encouraging massage therapy. The health insurance industry now recognizes massage therapy as a legitamate therapy tool, therefore some insurances will cover this treatment. The rejuvenation benefits of massage therapy are many:

  • Aids in stress relief and decreases stress hormone cortisol
  • Increases endorphines (the feel good hormones)
  • Pain relief
  • Increases blood circulation
  • decreases blood pressure (although blood pressure may increase temporarily immediately after massage)
  • Produces more regular sleep patterns
  • Reduces muscle tension and "knots"
  • Increases muscle flexibility
  • Decreases inflammation
  • Helps aid in the healing process
  • Gives the general feeling of peace and tranquility

These massage strokes allow the therapist to go deeper into the affected muscles to increase circulation and flexibility and decrease pain.

Sports Massage:
Firm massage focuses on weak, tender, overused, or problem areas. Gentle stretches help to relieve tension, spasms, and cramping. Includes moist heat and essential oils to help soothe and heal.

Raindrop Technique:
Aromatherapy bodywork. In this treatment, 7 powerful therapeutic grade essential oils and 2 oil blends are used on the feet, spine, and back using specialized massage techniques. Relaxing under hot, steamy towels, the oils penetrate deep into your tissues helping to reduce inflammation and muscle tension caused by physical and environmental stressors.
